NCBFAA Elects New Members - Sobel Network Shipping Co., Inc.

NCBFAA Elects New Members

May 1st through the 4th, at its 49th annual conference in Tucson, Arizona, the NCBFAA elected a new slate of officers and board members to govern the association from 2022 through 2024.

These new officers include the following: Jose Gonzalez – JD Gonzalez LCB – Laredo, TX as President, Victoria Lane – Coppersmith Global Logistics – Portland, OR as Vice President, Laurie Arnold – JAS USA – Atlanta, GA as Treasure and Kristiann App – J.W. Allen & Company – Saint Rose, LA as Secretary.

Serving as the Chairman, former-President Jan Fields joins Former President and Past Chairman Amy Magnus as NCBFAA Senior Counselors.

Fields stated that serving at any level with the NCBFAA was an honor in and of itself, but that it has been “an extraordinarily high honor” to serve as president of such a distinguished and strong association of global trade professionals. Thrilled to turn over the presidency to J.D. Gonzales, Fields says she has no doubt that J.D. has the knowledge, essential contacts, position on COAC, and the support of the NCBFAA leaders to ensure a successful presidency. She looked forward to assisting him as Chairman of the Board from here on out.

Gonzalez expressed his gratitude to the association’s membership for its confidence in electing him as President and that it was truly a privilege and honor. Jan, who set the bar high and performed magnificently during both the pandemic and a national supply chain crisis, relinquishes her seat to Gonzalez with high hopes for the future.

J.D. told the members, “As your newly elected President I look forward to facing the inevitable challenges that our association will face in the next two years as the trade landscape changes and we work hard to stay ahead of the curve. I am no doubt confident that we will find ways to meet the high expectations set for ourselves to the benefit of our important NCBFAA membership.”

Sobel is a proud member of the NCBFAA. While it is an association that naturally includes our competitors, we are all responsible for helping the government facilitate legitimate and legal trade. When issues arise we cannot tackle or solve alone, having the NCBFAA as a resource to speak to Congress and the top leadership of the government agencies regulating the activities of both us and our clients is critical.
