CBP Extends Modernized ACE Portal Broker Employee Reporting to be Satisfied by April 14

On February 3rd, the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) extended the requirements for customs broker employees in the ACE Portal. They are giving customs brokers “additional time to comply with the requirements and allow for the implementation of technical fixes in ACE.”

CBP announced: “All brokers will have until April 14, 2023, to satisfy the employee reporting requirements.”

The NCBFAA Customs Committee reached out to CBP and focused on the challenges faced by employ reporting requirements in relation to the Customs Broker Modernization Regulation (in effect Dec. 19). The CBP considered the committee’s concerns and decided to extend the reporting deadline which is now set for April 14.

All employee reporting functions have been deployed by the CBP on Feb 2 to the ACE Portal. You can find more details of the deployment at CSMS #54952300.

CBP remains focused on fixes for customer broker employee reporting and functions. They plan to advise the trade community about solutions:

Run a script for any missing employees. List the date of birth and place of birth in employee records that were moved from the local permit.

Remove duplicated employee information from the broker’s employee list.
