Cyber Security and You

With the possible threat of increased cyber attacks on the horizon, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), along with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), FBI, and the National Security Agency (NSA), is urging US infrastructure operators and air transport providers to protect themselves.

This insistence came when the Russian state-sponsored actors have “demonstrated a capability to maintain persistent, long-term access in compromised enterprise and cloud environments,” according to the CISA. Due to the continued protests of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the US government warns that these attacks may escalate in the weeks ahead for the US and other western countries. This will, in turn, cause severe economic sanctions to be put in place against Russia’s political and business leaders.

The CISA recommends being prepared. Minimizing reporting processes and personnel gaps in the IT/OT security coverage will be optimal. So that the critical functions and operations can keep running if the technology systems are disrupted or need to be taken offline, it is imperative to create, maintain, and exercise a cyber incident response plan. It’s never too early to prepare for potential cyber-attacks in your organization.

Enhance your organization’s cyber posture. This means identifying and accessing management, protective controls, and architecture, as well as vulnerability and configuration management.

Increase your organizational vigilance: Stay up to date reporting this threat. Should something happen, it is important to be well informed. Subscribing to the CISA’s mailing list and feeds to receive a notification when they release information about a security topic or threat could save your business.

Despite the threat of cyber attacks hanging in the not-so-distant future, Sobel is here to stay up to date with all the pertinent information regarding these situations. We want you to be prepared, so we stay equipped for anything that can go wrong. As a worldwide company, we understand the importance of protecting your clientele’s information. And we will continue to protect yours.
